going to manchester!!! took some pictures of the dubai airport as well.. the duty free shopping is pretty impressive! and the top right corner pic of the durex machine, ha, i found it in the female toilet in manchester airport... i wonder why they sell condoms to ladies... lol... and the bottom 4... zixiang (back), claudia (bottom left), shufeng (middle) and me... we're the travelling partners to manchester!!! 14+ hours of flight... and we actually survived... hip hip hurray! haha

Finally!!

Yeah... i'm finally connected to the internet... in fact, i've been in manchester for the past week without any internet connection...

well, things are great... really... except on the first day... ha... imagine having to lug up 34kg of luggage through 4 flights of stairs... yeah.. its no small feat... and my room is kinda disappointing initially... but honestly, i'm starting to like it more and more as the days go by...

weather here is great.... only rained twice in the week... but it gets really really cold when it rains... otherwise, the temperature is just great for walking! around 18 deg celsius... yep, so me and shufeng just walked and walked and walked for the first few days until we finally got the term bus ticket which costs GBP30 but gives unlimited ride on the buses till end of the year... It's interesting but annoying at the same time when it comes to buses and mobile networks cos they have so many companies competing with each other!! Especially the mobile network cos it's more expensive when you sms/call a no. that belongs to another mobile network. darnz...

ah.. and i've been to old trafford already... okay, it's just the outside i was at... didn't get to go in cos didn't have the time... hmm, eating out in manchester is really expensive... the cheapest i've seen so far is a 99 pence burger... that's like almost S$3... and their sandwiches average at GBP1.80 while other meals average at GBP5... goodness... thankfully i brought a whole lotta food...

oh but one great thing is that the clothes here ain't expensive... quite reasonably priced in fact... maybe even cheaper than s'pore... i've bought myself a jacket, a long sleeves top, a white skirt and a belt which totalled to GBP15... not too bad huh... and the pasta here is really dirt cheap... i bought a 1kg fusili for just 60 pence... that's like S$1.80.... gosh, i'm gonna have pasta every other day in order to finish that 1kg... ha...

people here are pretty friendly... made a few friends already though i still stick quite close to the sporeans....

ok, i admit, i drank half a cup of red cider just now at the Grovel (student-run-bar in my hall)... and my face and body is turning red already... yah yah, i suck at drinking alcohol... even when it's 5% only... boo boo me... headachey already... shall blog another time... maybe i'll upload some pics first...

Two cents worth on Eve of Departure

ok fine... not even worth 2 cents... ha...

oh well... finally kinda settled most of the stuffs le... came back from ho chi minh only yesterday... i'll post the pictures soon... not now... tired i guess... and lazy too... ha... oh well... and my conclusion... i still prefer bangkok... HAHAHA... ho chi minh no matter what... still a communist place... and the not so very long ago vietnam war also strip its beauty... oh well... but then again, the most interesting part of visiting ho chi minh is also getting to know abt the war... how americans tortured the vietnamese... and how americans lost finally... haiz... it's sad really... such wars...

hmmz... itz a lazy sunday today... slacked more than half the time... den went mustafa to change sgd into pounds... the rate was quite good... and finally we bought the insect killer lamps... ah... except i'd be gone for 4 mths before it can prove beneficial to me... oh, and me pa n ma went to eat heng huat (my dialect) dishes at Maude Street's Ming Chung Eatery... Nice!!! will definitely miss the food...

actually... i'm only going for 4 mths... how come i sound like i'll be away forever... lol... i mean who knows... i really might just be away forever... perhaps i might get into noc... go shanghai after coming bk fr manchester... or perhaps... i might stay in manchester for good... or perhaps... i might just not be around... *choi*...

whichever the case, i shall enjoy and treasure whatever i have now...

oh last but not least... congratz to qiang for winning de pageant... jiayou to datedate *winkz*... to jonni and daodao: wo hai shi zui teng ni men!!... to bainie, kel and jh: i will miss you all the most!!! we'll go hang out again as soon as i'm back!!!
